AI GEO acceptance checklist
Use this list as the acceptance section of an AI GEO / AI search visibility contract. Every item must be retestable by the buyer — not just demonstrated once by the vendor.
1. Buyer questions coverage
- A list of at least 20 buyer questions in the customer's own language.
- Each question tested across ChatGPT + Gemini + Perplexity at minimum; ideally also Claude, DeepSeek, Qwen, and Bing/Copilot.
- For each question, the current answer, sources cited, and whether the customer is mentioned or missing.
2. 14-day retest
- The same questions retested 14 days after delivery, unchanged wording.
- Deliverable is considered met only if visibility is stable or improving, not just present on day zero.
- Sudden loss on retest is a red flag for prompt injection, cached snapshots, or fabricated coverage.
3. Data and permission boundary
- Where does the source content live?
- Who can write to it, who can read it?
- What personal / commercial data is not allowed to be published?
- Written approval from data owner before any indexable content is emitted.
4. Cost cap and failure ownership
- Explicit monthly cost ceiling for third-party APIs.
- Clear ownership of failures: model regressions, crawler downtime, deleted external sources.
- Rollback plan if a change tanks visibility.
5. Lead handoff
- Standard lead capture minimum fields.
- Attribution back to the AI channel that generated the lead (which question, which engine, which surface).
- Handoff SLA to sales / delivery in hours, not days.
6. Repeatability
- Same operator can rerun the entire audit in <2 hours.
- Rerun log stored in a versioned system (git repo, wiki, or immutable object store).
7. Human review for high-risk output
- Any output that touches regulated claims (medical, financial, legal, safety) is not auto-published.
- Named reviewer + signed-off template.
8. Traceability
- Every recommendation the vendor makes is traceable to a public artifact or a documented internal source.
- No "our internal model says so" without a reproducible test.
If a vendor cannot meet items 1, 2, 4, and 8, the project is not ready to be signed.
